Allan Davidson was 29 years old and Deputy Managing Director of his family’s business, NK Fencing Ltd, the leading fencing provider in Ireland, when he participated in the Excelus programme in 2001.
Allan’s career had advanced rapidly, and he was finding it increasingly difficult to identify his own way of running a fast growing business. With a longstanding executive team in place, and new managers coming up through the ranks, Allan was unsure of which direction to take the business in, and how to lead it there.

The Excelus experience has helped to inspire Allan to find his own leadership and management style. As a result, the NK Fencing Group management team now have clearly defined roles and none more so than Allan himself, who now has the confidence to bring a fresh focus and a fresh vision to a business that has recently celebrated its most successful year ever.
Allan commented; "Before the programme I modelled the way forward as the boss as ‘being my father’. Now it is to listen to the people within the business… I am now developing ‘my team’ as the NK Group begins to write its second chapter. We have just celebrated achieving all annual targets."
